Lahadalia accompanies Prabowo to Russia to discuss energy cooperation

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia is accompanying President Prabowo Subianto to Russia to ensure that the energy sector plays a key role in discussions regarding bilateral cooperation between the two nations.“The visit plays a strategic role in overseeing the follow-up to the energy agenda and ensuring that bilateral commitments are implemented in line with the outcomes of the meeting between the two heads of state,” said the ministry’s spokesperson Dwi Anggia in Jakarta on Thursday.

In addition to state affairs, the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) serves as a platform for the ESDM Minister to strengthen communication with the Russian government and business community regarding investment opportunities in Indonesia's energy sector.

Strengthening energy cooperation between Indonesia and Russia is part of the government's strategy to address challenges related to evolving energy needs through international collaboration.

This constitutes a strategic move to ensure that the energy diplomacy agenda supports and strengthens national energy security in the long term.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is attending the 11th EEF as one of the principal guests of honor.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver a speech on economic cooperation, energy security, and investment in the Eurasian and Asia-Pacific regions, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and other partner nation leaders at the EEF Plenary Session on September 3.

Beyond the forum’s main agenda, Prabowo is also scheduled to hold a bilateral working lunch with Putin, which serves as an opportunity to follow up on the various cooperation commitments made by the two countries.
